Justice Colonel Yury Bragin has been temporarily suspended from duty. The reason was an attempt to obstruct the lawful detention and arrest of his friend, police lieutenant colonel Mikhail Shibanov, who held the position of senior operative commissioner for especially important cases of the 2nd Department of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.

A service inspection was initiated against Bragin. According to its results it is most likely that a decision will be made to initiate criminal proceedings and therefore Bragin's dismissal from the justice authorities is a matter of time.

Meanwhile, Shibanov is in custody in the investigative isolator. The court decision on his arrest was made for two months. The basis for which was suspicion of committing a serious crime.

The investigation of this case is headed by the head of the first department of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in St. Petersburg, Colonel of Justice Alexander Razbash (also known as Ukhvatov).

The investigation suggests that Shibanov's actions go beyond mere abuse of power. Razbash intends to prove Shibanov's involvement in an organized criminal group. This group, according to the investigation, was engaged in the transit of a large shipment of narcotic drugs from Latin America through the territory of the Russian Federation to the European Union...
