Plot of the movie Final Destination (2000 film):

The film takes place in our time. Seventeen-year-old Alex Browning is going with his class on a Christmas excursion to Paris. But before the flight, Alex is troubled by an obsessive thought caused by the fear of flying. He feels that the flight will be unsuccessful. And a few minutes before the flight, Alex sees a short dream. In which he sees with great clarity the crash of an airliner.

Alex raises the alarm and refuses to fly to Paris. And one of the teachers and several classmates are forced to refuse the flight along with him. They all unanimously began to blame Alex for ruining their excursion. But when, a few minutes after takeoff, an explosion thundered in the sky above the airport, the grief from the ruined excursion was replaced by the joy of salvation.

But the joy of the lucky ones who were saved did not last long. Soon after the ill-fated plane crash, Alex's classmate and friend Todd Waggner died. And a few days later, classmate Terry Cheney. Alex realized that these deaths were not accidental. After all, their deaths on the plane were probably programmed by an inevitable fate or some kind of death plan that they could not change. And if this is so, then all of them will have to die in the near future.

And soon after the causes of the accident were published, Alex suddenly discovered that Todd Waggner and Terry Cheney died in the order in which they were located in the plane from the epicenter of the explosion. And therefore, now knowing where the rest of the "lucky ones" would have been in the plane, it was possible to predict which of them would die next.

Having come to such a disappointing and terrible conclusion, Alex understands that in order to stay alive, he and his friends in misfortune need to break this vicious circle of inevitable fate. And thwart the devilish plan of death, according to which they were all destined to die...
