Narrative:

The action of the series "Grandfather Frost" takes place in June 1941. Immediately after the declaration of war, 86-year-old Nikolai Aleksandrovich Morozov applies to one of the Leningrad military registration and enlistment offices. Despite his advanced age, he demands to be enrolled as a volunteer to the front or to the people's militia units...

Morozov was born in 1854 on the estate of his landowner father, but he had no intention of following in his father’s footsteps: the young man was drawn to knowledge from an early age.

However, his studies did not go well and after being expelled from the gymnasium, Morozov became involved in revolutionary activities and, having founded the organization “People’s Will” with his comrades, he participated in the assassination attempt on the tsar.

For this crime, Morozov, along with other participants in the conspiracy, was sentenced to a long term of imprisonment. In prison, Morozov renounced his revolutionary views and devoted himself exclusively to self-education.

During more than thirty years of imprisonment, Morozov studied eleven foreign languages and wrote twenty-six volumes of scientific, philosophical and artistic works. At the recommendation of Mendeleev, he received the title of professor of chemistry.

He was personally acquainted with many famous revolutionaries, including Lenin, but he did not accept the Bolshevik coup, as he believed that it was impossible to build a happy life with the help of terror.

Despite his disagreements with the Bolsheviks, Morozov loved Russia and was ready to fight to the last drop of blood when the war began. Having arrived at the Volkhov Front, Morozov, who had completed sniper courses at Osoaviakhim before the war, organized a sniper group in the unit.

Together with his group, Morozov brings real terror to the enemy, therefore, the German command declares a hunt and promises a generous reward for his head...
