Narrative:

The action of the series "Chef Season 5. Return" takes place in our time. After being dismissed from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the former chief St. Petersburg Main Directorate Police Major General Viktor Rastorguev has fallen on hard times. He lost his job, service housing and was forced to live with his family on his pension in a rented apartment.

There was not enough money, and given Rastorguev's reputation in the city's business circles, it was extremely difficult to find work. It seemed that things could not get any worse, but merciless fate prepared another test for Rastorguev: his wife and daughter died in a car accident.

Several years pass and the former chief of the St. Petersburg police gets a job in one of the largest city banks, "Regional", which allowed him not only to improve his difficult financial situation, but also to acquire housing and a prestigious car. However, the past does not give the general peace and this past is inextricably linked with the service in the police, to which Rastorguev devoted his entire life.

The general understood that there was no way back for him, and Rastorguev had no thoughts of returning to service. However, events soon occurred in the city that forced Viktor Sergeyevich and the police leadership to change their plans.

These events were three murders that shook the whole of St. Petersburg. First, a well-known crime boss was killed by a hired killer, then an active police colonel, and finally a retired police general.

The examination showed that all three murders were committed with the same weapon, and the shooter's tracks led to the city of Vetrov in the Leningrad Region. The arrival of a large investigative task force in Vetrov would have raised a lot of noise, which would have caused the killer to try to leave the city, so it was decided to appoint a new police chief in Vetrov - General Rastorguev...
