Plot:

Alexey Kosygin was born in 1904 to a working class family in St. Petersburg. Even as a child, young Alyosha amazed those around him with his extraordinary abilities: he could multiply five-digit numbers in his head and extract square roots, so his father sent him to a commercial school, hoping that his son would become a bank employee.

However, the October Revolution of 1917 crossed out these plans. Alexei Kosygin, like his father, joined the Bolsheviks and at the age of 15, Alexei voluntarily joined the ranks of the Red Army.

After the Civil War, Kosygin was demobilized from the army and went to work in the national economy. The economy, destroyed by the war, needed professional personnel, and new horizons opened up for enterprising and energetic people like Kosygin.

In twenty years he made a dizzying career, at 35 Kosygin became the youngest member of the Soviet government. During the Patriotic War he was involved in the evacuation of industry and saved the residents of besieged Leningrad.

In the 1960s, heading the Council of Ministers, he turned the USSR into an energy superpower and increased the population's real income by almost a third. He was called the country's chief engineer and the most humane of all the Kremlin leaders. Alexei Kosygin served as head of the Soviet government for a record 16 years…
