Plot:

The action of the film "Light in the Window" takes place in the early 60s of the last century. The plot centers on workers of the Lugansk diesel locomotive plant Andrey Taisiya and Kostya.

Both guys are in love with Taisiya, but the girl chooses Andrey, a goal-oriented young man, the foreman of the automatic welding team. Andrey is not only a foreman, he is a Komsomol organizer, a production leader and a respected person at the plant, people like him were said to be a man with a future.

But one day a diesel locomotive comes off the plant's conveyor belt, which after a short period of operation fails due to poor welding. During the inspection it was established that this happened due to the fault of Petrenko's manual welding team, but Andrey was not happy about this, because as Petrenko rightly noted, manual welding is much more complicated than automatic welding, and the plan is the same for everyone.

Then Andrey suggests conducting an experiment and swapping places with Petrenko's team. The workers supported this proposal, only Kostya was against it, because it entailed a decrease in labor productivity and, as a consequence, a decrease in the bonus, and one could forget about new apartments for the best workers.

These arguments had a strong effect on Taisiya, and after that she began to look at Andrey differently. Now he had turned from a production leader and the best foreman into a miserable loser, but despite these reproaches, Andrey was not going to stop his experiment, but firmly believed that he would soon see the light in the window and achieve even greater success in his new place...
