Plot of Anna Karenina (TV series 2009):
Arriving in Moscow to visit her brother Stepan Oblonsky, Anna Karenina meets Count Alexei Vronsky.
Anna had heard a lot about Vronsky, because he was one of those people who had been talked about in both Russian capitals lately.
He was young, handsome, ambitious and very rich, and therefore was rightfully considered one of the most eligible bachelors in Russia.
Kitty (Ekaterina Aleksandrovna Shcherbatskaya) was in the running for the role of the bride, but Vronsky’s acquaintance with Anna Karenina changed his plans.
Having fallen in love with each other, Vronsky and Anna forgot for a while that there was, if not an insurmountable obstacle, then a significant complication to their relationship, which was due to the fact that Anna Karenina was a married woman.
If love makes some people happy, then others, on the contrary, are completely unhappy. This is exactly what Anna Karenina was made of by her reckless love for the young count.
After all, in that high society to which she and Vronsky belonged, not everyone approved of her actions, and the majority sharply condemned them.
Love is also blind, because having fallen in love with Vronsky, Anna Karenina saw only positive qualities in him.
While in her husband, whom she no longer loved, there were only negative traits. While Vronsky was far from being as ideal as he had seemed to Anna from the very beginning, and soon she noticed with horror a change in his feelings.
Vronsky increasingly neglected Anna, was afraid to appear with her in public, and soon began to avoid her.
Realizing the trouble she had brought not only herself but also her loved ones into, Anna Karenina saw only one way out of this seemingly hopeless situation.
This way out was suggested to her by the train, the same one that brought her to Moscow then, and which crushed to death the man who, in despair, threw himself under it.
It was from this tragic incident that her acquaintance with Vronsky began, which Anna even then perceived as a bad omen...
