Narrative:

The action of the film "Kromov" takes place in 1916, when Count Alexey Alexevich Kromov was appointed military attaché of the Russian military mission in Paris. At that time, the mission's accounts in French banks contained 250 million rubles in gold, intended to finance the needs of the army, and Kromov was the only one who knew the numbers of these accounts.

With the beginning of the revolutionary events in Russia in 1917, purchases for the army were suspended, and after the October Bolshevik coup of 1917, Russia left the war altogether, violating its alliance treaty. In connection with this, diplomatic relations between Russia and France were broken off, and Kromov was forced to cease the mission's activities.

As for the money, Kromov transfers it to his personal account and intends to transfer it to Russia only after some kind of legitimate authority is established there.

However, Kromov was not the only one who knew about the existence of gold. A real hunt for the millions begins, and Kromov knew that these people would stop at nothing. However, fully aware of the threat hanging over him, Kromov remains true to his duty and oath...
