Narrative:
The film takes place during the First World War, in 1916. In between naval battles, the hero of the Baltic, Rear Admiral Alexander Vasilyevich Kolchak, meets the wife of one of his deputies, Sergei Timerev, at a ball in Petrograd.
It was love at first sight, and mutual. But Anna Timereva and Alexander Kolchak himself were bound by the sacred bonds of marriage, and as a man of honor, the admiral did not dare to court a married woman. Moreover, soon after this acquaintance, Kolchak was forced to leave Petrograd: he was promoted to vice admiral and sent to command the Black Sea Fleet.
Here Kolchak received the news of the February Revolution and the fall of the monarchy. And soon he was summoned to the head of the Provisional Government, Kerensky. Kerensky offered the admiral to head the naval department in his government, but Kolchak rejected him because of the wild anarchy in the army and navy. Sailors and soldiers, drunk with impunity, easily killed officers and generals, just because they belonged to the officer corps.
Having received a refusal, Kerensky advises Kolchak to leave Russia and go to the United States as a military adviser. The admiral accepts this offer, but after the Bolshevik coup, he returns to his homeland.

Having settled in Omsk, Admiral Kolchak forms an army and prepares it for armed struggle against the Bolsheviks. Soon Kolchak's army wins its first victories, liberating cities and villages from the communists. Kolchak is appointed the supreme ruler of Russia and is recognized by all its allies as the only legitimate leader in the country.
At this time, Anna Timereva was traveling with her husband to the Far East. Having learned on the train from a mutual friend about Kolchak and his army, Anna, without thinking twice, leaves her husband and rushes to Omsk. Here she gets a job as a nurse in a hospital and only watches her beloved from afar, not daring to approach him. But Kolchak soon finds out that Anna is in Omsk and, having found her, takes her to him.
There were no more than a hundred kilometers left to Moscow, when units of the Red Army broke through the front, struck Kolchak's forces in the rear and routed their advanced forces. In order to save the remnants of the army, Kolchak decided to retreat to Irkutsk. But on the way, the admiral received alarming news: an uprising had occurred in Irkutsk, and the allied troops holding the line there had betrayed him and gone over to the side of the rebels.
Soon Kolchak was arrested and handed over to the Revolutionary Military Tribunal. At this time, units loyal to Kolchak under the command of General Kappel were approaching the city. Feeling that the city was about to escape from their control, the communists rushed to carry out Kolchak's death sentence.
After the execution of Admiral Kolchak, Anna Timereva was convicted and spent 37 years in camps and exile. She was rehabilitated in March 1960…
