Plot:
"Hipsters" dressed brightly and provocatively, listened to forbidden Western music, spoke in slang that was incomprehensible to those around them, danced the twist and rock-n-roll. In general, they were an eyesore for the rest of progressive Soviet society, which considered "hipsters" to be almost traitors to the motherland or agents of world imperialism.
Komsomol activists fought mercilessly against this feigned Western influence and often organized raids on "hipsters". Mels Biryukov, a student, athlete, Komsomol member and ardent defender of Soviet thinking and lifestyle, also took part in such raids. And what other kind of young man could he be with the name Mels, the capital letters of which stood for Marx, Engels, Lenin and Stalin?
But one day, during another raid, Mels met Polina, or Polza, as her hipster friends called her. Having fallen in love with Polza at first sight, the exemplary Komsomol member Mels was forced to become a "hipster" himself, and having become better acquainted with this movement, Mels no longer wanted to return to his past life, because he was now not like all this gray majority and, strangely enough, he really liked it...
