Plot:
The action of the film "Doomed to War" takes place in the winter of 1942 in German-occupied Belarus. Young partisan Zosya is sent
to a remote village on behalf of the partisan detachment commander. She is followed by a partisan who has long been in love with her, Anton, who specifically went AWOL to protect the girl.
For several days the partisans wandered through the snow-covered fields, trying to carry out the order, and in one village they accidentally overheard a conversation between policemen, from which it followed that the Germans had taken Stalingrad.
Anton immediately panicked and suggested that Zosya not return to the detachment, because apparently the war was over, and ended with a German victory. So what was the point of their activities? And wouldn't it be better for them to go to Zosya's relatives and wait out the war there?
But Zosya categorically rejected these defeatist proposals of Anton and advised him to return back to the detachment. Having been refused, Anton decides to force Zosya to change her decision, but this leads to a tragic outcome...
