Plot:

Действие фильма «Третья ракета» происходит во время войны в Белоруссии. Пошел третий день затишья, для артиллерийского расчета старшего сержанта Желтых. Подготовив позицию для своей 45-ки, бойцы напряженно ждали немецкого наступления, ведь звенящая тишина на войне, не успокаивала, когда противник, находился на расстоянии выстрела.

Cut off from their troops, as a result of the Germans breaking through the defense, these six men were ready to stand to the end in order to delay the enemy's advance in the entrusted direction, but when the battle began, one of them wavered. Taking advantage of the death of the commander of the calculation Yellow, the cowardly soldier Zadorozhny panicked and agitated his comrades to abandon the gun and retreat.

Corporal Petrov, who took command of the crew, could not retreat and abandon the gun without the battalion commander and was forced to send the panic-stricken Zadorozhny to the battalion commander for further instructions. But Zadorozhny did not return, and the crew had its last shells. Instead of Zadorozhny, nurse Lyusya made her way to the crew and relayed the battalion commander's order to retreat from the positions.

But it was too late, they were surrounded and forced to engage the opposing enemy. One after another, their comrades were killed, and soon only Private Vasily Loznyak was left alive. Having used up all his ammunition, Loznyak fired back with a flare gun he found in a trench, and when he loaded the last third flare, the Soviet infantry went into battle.

The enemy was thrown back, and suddenly a smug Zadorozhny appeared in the position. He tried to justify himself for not following the order, covering himself with a trivial wound to his hand. But Loznyak was not going to forgive the coward because of whom all his comrades and nurse Lyusya died, and he had a third rocket left in his pistol for the scoundrel...
