Plot:
The action of the film "The Slowest Train" takes place in the spring of 1943. A military train with captured German soldiers is heading from a liberated city to the rear. War correspondent Captain Sergeyev manages to persuade the head of the train to attach his car with the divisional printing house to the train.
Sergeyev thought that he would be the only passenger in the carriage, but along the way the carriage fills up with other uninvited fellow travelers. There is a pregnant woman, Svetlana Ivanovna, who recently lost her husband, and a former conductor, and an actress, Varvara, and a little girl with a wounded soldier, and a man who has lost everything, and even an old sackman who has arrived in the frontline zone to profit from something.
The train moved very slowly and was forced to stop at each station to let the trains heading to the front pass, so the passengers had a lot of time to get to know each other...
