The action of the cartoon takes place in the Far Far Away Kingdom. A year has passed since the wedding of the Tsar's daughter Vasilisa and the peasant's son Ivan, who, although now by position was Tsarevich, but, in essence, remained a simple village boy.

Because of this and many other things, the relationship between the young spouses began to deteriorate little by little. Ivan Tsarevich paid less and less attention to Vasilisa, busying himself with his faithful friend the Gray Wolf in strengthening the state's defense capability, while Vasilisa advocated openness in foreign policy and preferred that her husband spend as much time with her as possible.

Seeing how the young people often began to quarrel, the Tsar-father thought about how to reconcile them and his advisers helped him in this: the Learned Cat and the Gray Wolf. Finally, after long consultations, they come to the only solution in this case: it is necessary for some villain to kidnap Vasilisa, and Ivan Tsarevich must rush to save her, which means peace, friendship and love will forever reign in the young royal family.

Chernomor, who had lost his magic beard and had long since retired from villainous deeds, was chosen for the role of the villainous kidnapper. And without his beard, he was a sweet and kind old man who now worked as a clown in the local circus. Having learned that Chernomor most of all wanted to play some tragic role, the king promises him the role of Othello in his theater, and the former villain agrees to become Vasilisa's kidnapper.

But neither the Tsar, nor his learned Cat, nor even the Gray Wolf suspected that Chernomor had a sister, Naina, who dreamed of returning her brother's magical power, because when Chernomor was without a beard, she was just a bat. But as soon as Chernomor acquired his magic beard, the bat turned into a fatal beauty, against whose charms even the Tsar could not resist...
