Plot of the film I Can't Say Goodbye:
The foreman and the best worker in production was not only the first at the plant, but also on the dance floor. The handsome young man, whose photo was on the honor board, had no shortage of female attention.
Quite the opposite. Many beauties would be happy if Sergey proposed to them. The modest truck driver Lida, whom Sergey saves from hooligans at a dance, is also in love with Sergey.
It seemed that such a romantic acquaintance could develop into something more, but Sergei did not want to burden himself with a permanent relationship yet.
However, soon the blonde accountant Marta appears at the disco, with whom the successful foreman falls in love at first sight. Vatagin, who had not thought about marriage, now does not resist, and the matter ends with a wedding.
This joyful event for Sergey greatly upset Lida, but she bit her lips and continued to live on. Meanwhile, the young couple went to the village where Sergey's mother lived.

Having celebrated another wedding, this time among fellow countrymen, the newlyweds plan to return to the city. However, his childhood best friend Mikhail, who headed the local forestry, invites Sergei to stay.
He offers Sergei the position of foreman with a salary no less, if not more, than Sergei had at the plant. And for Marta, he also has the position of accountant in reserve.
Without thinking twice, Sergey and Marta agreed. Especially since Mikhail promised to solve the issue with his own housing. And that was a big plus.
So Sergey became a foreman in the forestry. As at the plant, he was a production leader and the best foreman, until something happened Emergency.
One day, Mikhail insisted that Sergey and his team go to the site in thick fog. Of course, this was a violation of safety regulations, but the plan was on fire. And without a plan, there are no bonuses or other benefits.
The other foremen flatly refused, but they managed to put pressure on Sergei through Marta.

And Marta, having been dragged around for several months caring for her bedridden husband, ran away to the city. And soon she was dancing on the dance floor, where Lida saw her.
Having learned what happened to Sergei, she drops everything and rushes to his village to stay with him forever...
