Действие фильма «Неизвестные страницы из жизни разведчика» разворачивается в 1941 году накануне войны. Советские разведчики, находящиеся в Германии бомбардирут центр донесениями о готовящемся нападении Германии на СССР, но помня о том, что Сталин и высшее руководство страны призывало не поддаваться на провокации, начальник военной разведки генерал-лейтенант Голиков не спешил верить этим сообщениям.

Soviet intelligence officer Pyotr Ilyich Khalyazin, who was on assignment from the center to check Soviet agents in the eastern and southern regions of Germany, reported to the center that some of the agents had failed, others were working under the control of the Gestapo, and some intelligence agents, having tired themselves out from their work, simply did not get in touch.

Having completed this task from the center, Khalyazin, tired from the eight-year protracted mission, could now calmly return to his homeland, but having received 100% information about Germany's attack on the USSR, he hurried to report it to the center. With this message, Khalyazin not only provoked the wrath of General Golikov, but also signed his own death warrant.
The center orders Khalyazin to check the last meeting place, and the scout realized that he was being deliberately led into a mousetrap. Nevertheless, Khalyazin carries out this task from the center and not only remains alive, but also does not fall under suspicion of the Gestapo.
With the outbreak of war, Soviet intelligence officer Pyotr Khalyazin, whom the center had long considered dead, appeared on the territory of German-occupied Western Ukraine. He had no connection, no assignment from the center, no addresses with passwords, but he was ready to act and serve for the good of his Motherland...
