Narrative:
The action of the film "It's Us, Lord!" takes place in the autumn of 1941. The Germans are rushing towards Moscow, and a threatening situation has developed in the Moscow direction. A company of Kremlin cadets under the command of Captain Ryumin arrives to reinforce the regiment holding the defense on the fourth line of defense of the capital.
Ryumin's cadets were armed only with self-loading rifles, grenades and Molotov cocktails, and the captain hoped that they would be given at least a few machine guns at the front. But the regiment commander was forced to disappoint the company commander; he could not help with anything except the kitchen and ammunition. After all, the regiment was staffed only by militiamen, who had three-line rifles, and not everyone had them.
In addition, the regiment is forced to defend a large area, where a full-fledged division should be located. After such a "warm" reception, Ryumin receives a combat mission to advance with his cadets six kilometers forward and not to retreat without an order. Having arrived on the ground, Ryumin orders that by morning trenches with communication passages be dug in full profile and that defenses be taken up.
The next day, the enemy began an offensive in the direction where Lieutenant Alexei Yastrebov's fourth platoon was holding the line. Yastrebov was already preparing to give the command to open fire, but he saw that the approaching soldiers were his own. The soldiers and commanders were exhausted and looked miserable. An officer told Yastrebov that they were breaking out of encirclement, and one of the soldiers introduced himself as the division commander, Major General Pereverzev.

He demands that Yastrebov immediately take him to his commander. But Ryumin managed to expose the self-proclaimed general: it turned out that he was simply a shell-shocked soldier. Having let the retreating soldiers pass to the rear, the cadets continued to hold the defense and soon came under powerful artillery and mortar fire from the advancing enemy.
The front line was rapidly retreating back and soon the cadets found themselves deep in the German rear. Realizing that they were surrounded, Ryumin gathered the remnants of the company and ordered them to break through to their own. On the cadets' way there was a small village occupied by the Germans and under cover of night Ryumin's fighters managed to launch a surprise attack and defeat the small garrison stationed in this village.
This raised the fighting spirit of the cadets, and they now tried more resolutely to break through to their own in order to continue the fight against the enemy. However, at the edge of the forest, the surviving cadets are caught in enemy air strikes. Of the entire company, only a few fighters remain, Captain Ryumin and Lieutenant Yastrebov.
Unable to bear the loss of his soldiers, Ryumin commits suicide. Yastrebov and the surviving cadets try to bury their commander, but at that moment German tanks appear, they shoot the soldiers, and Yastrebov, who had taken refuge in the grave dug for Ryumin, is captured...
