Narrative:

Action of the film Come and see happens in 1943 in German-occupied Belarus. A village teenager, Florian Gaischun, despite his mother's protests, decides to join a partisan unit. In the unit, he meets Glasha, a young girl whom the partisans saved from being sent to Germany.

Soon the detachment was supposed to go into battle, but the commander does not take Florian because of his young age. Offended, the boy goes into the forest, where he meets Glasha. At this time, a German plane circles over the forest, and soon the teenagers watch the landing of the landing force.

Trying to hide from the Germans, Florian and Glasha go to the village where Florian's mother lived, but neither his mother nor his sisters were in the house. An evil thought flashed through Florian's mind, but he tried to push it away, hoping that his relatives were alive. Despite the fact that he and Glasha found a pile of corpses of local residents behind the village, Florian hoped that his mother and sisters had managed to escape to an island in the swamp that the Germans did not know about.

But even on the island, Florian was in for a disappointment: his relatives were not among the surviving fellow villagers. In the evening, Florian and three partisans set off for a neighboring village for food, and they manage to get a cow from the local elder. But on the way back, the partisans are ambushed. Florian miraculously survives and takes refuge with a local resident who passes him off as his grandson.

At this time, the SS Einsatzkommando enters the village. After checking their documents, all the locals are herded into a large barn and the door is nailed shut. Florian also ends up in the barn, but fate is kind to him again. Miraculously escaping from the fatal barn, he watches in horror as the fascists set it on fire and then spray it with lead from machine guns and submachine guns.

Having burned the village, the punitive forces rushed to leave it, but were ambushed by partisans. Some of the punitive forces were defeated, some were captured and now awaited the just wrath of the people with horror. Florian came out to meet his comrades, but the commander did not immediately recognize him. Instead of a smiling and naive boy, a gray and wrinkled old man was looking at him...
