Plot of the film A second for a feat:

The film takes place in the mid-1980s. Yakov Novichenko and his family travel to Pyongyang at the invitation of his comrade-in-arms, General Lee Chang-hyuk, whom he has not seen for almost forty years.

Their first meeting took place in the autumn of 1941 ManchuriaThen a detachment of Korean partisans, commanded by Lee Chah Hyuk, pursued by the Japanese, was forced to cross the Soviet border and ask for help from the Red Army soldiers, among whom was Yakov Novichenko.

In 1945, after the victory over Germany, as part of a group of Soviet troops, Novichenko again arrived in the Far East, this time to help his Korean comrades in their national liberation war against the Japanese imperialists.

After the war, a significant part of the Korean people expressed a desire to follow the path of socialist construction under the leadership of the leader of the Korean Communist Party, Comrade Kim Il Sung.

Who appealed to the Soviet government with a request for assistance in rebuilding the war-torn country.

But the enemies of the revolution, supported by American intelligence services, decide to eliminate Kim Il Sung.

There have been several unsuccessful attempts on the leader's life, and now a real professional has arrived from Japan to Seoul who, in the opinion of the Americans, will finally be able to bring the matter to an end.

The assassination of Kim Il Sung was decided to take place during a rally dedicated to the 27th anniversary of the March 1 anti-Japanese movement. On this occasion, a speech by the communist leader was planned in the central square in Pyongyang.

Yakov Novichenko and Lee Chang Hyuk are together again, shoulder to shoulder, they ensure the safety of the leader of the Korean people, Kim Il Sung.

At the climax of the film, one of the conspirators throws a grenade towards the platform where Kim Il Sung was standing, but Yakov Novichenko manages to intercept it and, throwing himself to the ground, covers it with his body...
