Plot of the film Shores in the fog:
1921. The Russian Civil War ended with the Bolsheviks winning. The Red Army entered Crimea, the last foothold of the "Whites", which they were desperately trying to cling to.
However, the forces were not equal and in the autumn of 1921, the commander of the "White" army, Baron Wrangel, made the difficult decision to leave this last bridgehead. In agreement with the allies, Wrangel's thirty-thousand-strong army was redeployed to Bulgaria.
Wrangel and most of his officers considered this retreat a temporary measure. After all, Russia, bled dry by a long war, lay in ruins. Millions of people were starving, and anti-Bolshevik uprisings were breaking out all over Russia.
In such a situation, the leaders of the White movement believed that with the military and economic help of the allies, they would easily overthrow the Soviet power. However, the allies were in no hurry to help. Moreover, they began to cooperate with this new power and were ready to recognize its legitimacy.

Realizing that they have no more arguments, the leaders of the White movement take a desperate step. Considering that the size of their army was several times greater than the Bulgarian one, they decide to stage a military coup in that country and seize power following the example of the Bolsheviks.
However, the Bulgarian authorities managed to prevent the coup. Wrangel's army was disarmed, and most of his generals and officers were expelled from the country.
Colonel Sergei Egoriev had long since stopped taking seriously these death throes of his comrades. He understood that it was impossible to restore the old order by force.
The colonel faced another dilemma. He had a wife and youngest daughter in Crimea. He could only reunite with them if he decided to return home. However, while Yegoryev was thinking about it, sad news came from Crimea about his wife's death...
