Narrative:

The film takes place in 1943. Komsomol member Elena Loginova arrives in the German-occupied Donbass. At the beginning of the war, Lena was evacuated from her hometown, but now she was returning home to organize an underground youth organization there to fight the occupiers.

Many years ago, during the civil war, her mother Natalia Loginova was also a partisan here. Then, as now, Donbass was occupied by the Germans and the Komsomol underground, of which her mother was an active member, waged an irreconcilable struggle against the uninvited guests. In this struggle, Natalia Loginova died, she went to her death with her head held high, as befits a Komsomol member.

Elena Loginova decided to continue her mother's work and arrived in Donbass with a mission from the Komsomol to create an underground movement in her hometown. At first, it was not easy to do: the Germans destroyed many active Komsomol members, and those who survived were disunited and did not have the will to fight against the occupiers.

But with her enthusiasm and faith in the right cause, Elena managed to unite around herself all those who had not yet forgotten that they were Komsomol members and create a youth underground organization. Komsomol members pasted up leaflets, actively prevented the Germans from restoring the Donbass mines, and shortly before the liberation of Donbass by the Red Army, they committed a daring action: they freed the girls whom the fascists were going to take to Germany, and at the same time burned down the labor exchange along with its commandant.

A few days later, Donbass was already welcoming its liberators, who, having liberated their native land, rushed further, to Berlin. And Elena Loginova, after the liberation of her native city, went to study at the Mining Institute, because now it was necessary to restore the ruined economy of Donbass, which now acutely lacked qualified specialists...
