On January 12,13,14, three Soviet fronts, supported by Ukrainian partisans, began the offensive on Berlin.
There is panic in Hitler's headquarters: the mad Fuhrer is desperate to save the situation and is grasping at every opportunity to prevent the Communists from entering Europe. Chief of the Wehrmacht General Staff Guderian proposes to strike at the flanks of the advancing troops of Marshal Zhukov from Pomerania and Hungary. At the same time Gimller advises Hitler to start negotiations with the West, which would agree on an armistice for 100 days. According to Gimller it gave Germany the opportunity to transfer significant forces from the West to the Eastern Front and delay the advance of the Russians. After listening to the arguments of his deputies, the delighted Führer approves them.

At this time in his headquarters, Marshal Zhukov was hearing reports from his deputies. On March 4, 1945, the heads of the three powers: Great Britain, the USA and the USSR met in Yalta to further coordinate their actions. Although both sides of the Allies: Great Britain and the USA on the one hand, the USSR on the other tried to take Berlin first. But the Soviet troops were only 60 kilometers. from the capital of the Third Reich, while the Allies were 600 kilometers away.
On April 12, 1945, the Berlin offensive operation, unparalleled in world history for its firepower, began. In this operation the Red Army involved about a million soldiers, 4 thousand tanks, 5 thousand airplanes and 22 thousand guns and mortars.
