Narrative:

The action of the movie "The Chase" takes place in the early 60's of the last century. Anatoly Ivanovich has been working as a gamekeeper at the hunting base for several years, but with the arrival of the new director of the base Burenkov the question of his dismissal arose.

The point is that Anatoly Ivanovich lost his leg in the war and, according to Burenkov, could not fully fulfill his duties, because the gamekeeper should not only take guests around, but also chase poachers.

On this his last working day at the hunting base, Anatoly Ivanovich takes two military men to a hunting trip: a general and a major. However, on his way back to the base, the gamekeeper saw a poacher hunting in a prohibited protected area.

Despite his disability, Anatoly Ivanovich tries to apprehend the poacher and rushes after him in pursuit. The huntsman pursues the offender on crutches for several tens of kilometers, and his persistence finally yields results.

Having apprehended the poacher, Anatoly Ivanovich takes him to the base, but the director simply lets the offender go, and kicks the gamekeeper out of the base. Hearing this, the offender himself suddenly stands up for Anatoly Ivanovich and is ready to suffer the deserved punishment for his sake....
