The plot of the movie The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn:
The movie is set in the late 19th century. In a small town St. Petersberg on the Missouri shore lives nine-year-old Tom Sawyer. He does not like to go to school and is looking forward to the next summer vacation.
Together with his friend Huckleberry Finn, a homeless boy, Tom dreams of becoming a pirate or an outlaw. But they were too young to realize this dream, so for now the friends concentrate on searching for treasure.
Joe the Indian helped them with that. He was a very dark and unpleasant person who no one in their town wanted to mess with. The Indian was cunning, bold and very dangerous. He was a participant in many dark and dirty deeds, which with varying frequency occurred in the town and its neighborhood.
One day Tom and Huck went to the town cemetery at midnight to remove warts with the help of a dead cat. But instead they witnessed one such dirty deed, in which Indian Joe was a participant.
He and his two companions also ended up in the cemetery. Young Dr. Robinson had hired Joe and another drifter named Meph Potter to exhume a corpse he needed for medical experiments.
In the course of the work a quarrel broke out between the Indian and the doctor, in the course of which Joe cold-bloodedly plunged a knife belonging to poor Potter into his back. And since Potter was in a deep sleep after the doctor had beaten him with the coffin board, he did not see the moment of the blow.
Upon waking up, poor Meph decided that he had killed the doctor and the Indian had convinced him that he had.
Tom and Huck, who witnessed the crime, swore that they would never tell anyone the truth. The Indian would drown them in the river like kittens. But soon remorse overcame fear.
Realizing that because of their silence an innocent man will go to the gallows Tom and Huck testify in court.
Nevertheless, the Indian manages to escape, making his friends shiver with fear. But as it turned out, there was a positive moment in it. After all, having tracked down the Indian Joe boys found a treasure that they could only dream of....
