The legendary teenage gang "Tyap-lyap" that operated in Kazan in the mid-70s of the last century was neutralized in the early 80s. Most of its leaders received long prison terms, and some were sentenced to death.
But despite this, it was not possible to defeat organized street crime in Kazan.
The Tyap-Lyap gang became an example for teenagers of that time and gave birth to the so-called "Kazan phenomenon". By the end of the 80s, street crime had overwhelmed Kazan. The city was divided into spheres of influence by gangs, for control of which there was a fierce struggle. Street fights "wall" to "wall" became a common occurrence of that time.
Young people were divided into two camps. The "lads" were members of street gangs. And the "chushpany", those who did not belong to them. The "lads" could easily beat up a "chushpany", take his money or humiliate him in front of his girlfriend or parents. The mass nature of the phenomenon and the mutual responsibility did not allow law enforcement agencies to protect people from violence.
And the only way to do this was to join the gang. That's what fourteen-year-old Andrei Vasiliev did. Tired of constant extortions and beatings, he made friends with Marat Suvorov, a member of the "Universal" gang. And soon he became a member himself.
Street romance, where the "word of a boy" was cultivated, quickly captured the immature mind of a teenager. However, it also had the other side of the coin. An ideology built on violence could not protect against violence...

Сериал снят более менее качественно. Сюжет закручен и смотрится на одном дыхании. Из недостатков можно отметить так это жаргон. Многие слова в сериале не из того времени, а из нашего времени. На дискотеке звучит только «Ласковый май» и «Звёзды», а на самом деле в то время на дискотеках звучала только западная попса. Вообще «Ласковый май» слушали только девушки, пацаны предпочитали что-то потяжелее. Кино, Алиса, ДДТ. Опять же патриотизм пафосный не был К американцам в конце 80-х годов уже не было такого негативного отношения, а вот Ленин и социализм уже порядком всем поднадоел. У нас из класса только 2 человека поступили в комсомол в 1989 году, тогда уже никто туда за уши не тянул. В общем смотреть можно
