The plot of Trees on the Pavement (1984 movie):
The action of the movie takes place in the early 80s of the last century. The main character of the movie is Anna Timofeevna, a widow and war veteran who lost her husband in the war. In the hard and hungry post-war time she had to raise her only son Stepan alone.
Now Stepan lived in the city, got a three-room apartment, and when it became difficult for his mother to live alone in the village, he called her to his place. However, soon grandson Gena and his young wife returned from the army, and Anna Timofeevna began to embarrass the young people.
Not wanting to be a burden, the elderly woman took on all the household chores, but such exertion gave her a microinfarction. And since doctors recommended avoiding physical work, Stepan's wife had an excuse to send the old woman to a countryside boarding house for the elderly.
Conveniently for themselves nestled grandmother, relatives forgot about her, and then Anna Timofeevna decides to return home to the village...
