Narrative:

The film takes place in the second half of the 80s of the last century. Gold prospector Yuri Petrovich and his boss Nikolai come to Leningrad for another vacation. But as luck would have it, all the city's hotels are occupied, and old acquaintances turned out to be too strange to give them a place to stay for the night.

But one old acquaintance of Yuri Petrovich, Yulik, advises them to visit a divorced woman who was looking for a groom. Nikolai, unlike Petrovich, was not married, and immediately seized on this idea. And besides, he grew up in the province in a simple family and always wanted to meet a cultured city woman.

But when Petrovich and Nikolai arrived at the address indicated by Yulik, it turned out that they had come to see Yuri Petrovich's ex-wife Lyudmila. Many years ago they had separated out of stupidity, lacking the willpower to understand each other.

Once during an argument, Lyudmila, in a fit of rage, declared: "I hate you, go away!" And he left, far away and for a long time. He went to the North, to the gold mines, although all these years he suffered greatly and wanted to return.

During this chance meeting, they realized that they had been very hasty in their youth and now it was not too late to start all over again...
