Narrative:

Action of the film I'm sorry takes place in Soviet times, in the mid-80s. The main character is thirty-year-old Masha, a happy woman who, to the envy of her friends, has everything going well in life. She has a good and strong family, and the main thing is, of course, Maria's husband, Kirill Andreevich, a successful and handsome man, behind whom Masha is like behind a stone wall.

But one day an unknown woman called Maria at work, she told Masha that her faithful and wonderful husband was dating another girl, and even gave the address where she could meet the lovers. Without wasting a minute, Maria hurried to the place of the supposed meeting to check the anonymous person's information.

Going outside, she caught a ride and asked the driver to follow her to the address given by the anonymous person. Arriving at the place, Masha immediately saw Kirill, he was walking arm in arm with a beautiful young girl much younger than him. Masha was ready to throw her fists at her rival, but her new acquaintance, Vladimir Semenovich, dissuades her, because a fight does not make a woman look good.

Seeing that the couple has got into a ride, Maria asks Vladimir Semenovich to follow them. But Vladimir Semenovich, who is wise in life experience, advises Maria not to try to catch up with them now and sort things out, because if her husband replaces her now, he will probably come up with something to justify himself, for example, that the girl is just his employee.

It is better to start an unpleasant conversation at home, when the unsuspecting husband comes home, then he will be caught off guard. Returning to work, Masha tells her co-workers everything. One of the co-workers was the neighbor of that very young girl and tells Masha her name and address. And in the evening, following the advice of a new acquaintance, Maria decided to expose Kirill.

When Kirill, playing the role of a husband in love, showed up at home with flowers in his hands, Masha, not giving him time to come to his senses, told him everything she had seen during the day. Having learned that Masha had been following him, Kirill became indignant and left home to go to his young lover, and within half an hour the happy and strong family was on the verge of falling apart. Fortunately for Masha, Sasha, her school sweetheart, called her at that moment. Maria immediately invited him to visit.

But to her disappointment, in the ten years that they had not seen each other, Sasha's appearance had changed greatly, not for the better. In addition, he was an alcoholic and, as it soon turned out, he had come to visit Maria to borrow money for a drink. When Sasha left, Masha saw his happy drinking buddies in the window, greeting their savior.

Not wanting to stay at home, Maria goes to a party at her co-worker and best friend Natasha. But here, too, she is disappointed: the man who was courting Natasha has his eye on Masha. Natasha, hurt by this turn of events, drives Maria away. So, in one day, Masha loses her husband and best friend.

Walking down the street, she suddenly meets the same Vladimir Semenovich with whom she had been following her husband during the day. Vladimir Semenovich invites Masha to spend some cultural time at his home, but they are met at the threshold of his apartment by Vladimir Semenovich's wife, who had returned from a business trip a day earlier.

Nevertheless, Vladimir Semenovich invites Masha to have tea, but taking advantage of the moment, Maria runs away. Finding herself late at night, in an unfamiliar area near a vacant lot, Masha becomes a victim of drunk teenagers...
