The film takes place in the 1980s in Chile, which was under military dictatorship. Pinochet.
The main character of the film is a fifth-year cadet of a military school nicknamed JaguarUnlike his classmates, Jaguar was from a poor rural family and decided to become a soldier to escape the poverty that surrounded him.
Thanks to his strength, courage and independence, Jaguar enjoyed great authority among his comrades and soon became an informal leader on the course. The cadet environment was actively thriving in the trade of alcohol, drugs and even exam tickets.
Almost all the cadets were members of a secret circle led by Jaguar, who had his own percentage from the sale of whiskey, drugs, and other things.
The only exception was cadet Ricardo Orana, who was despised by the other cadets for this and they mocked the guy in every possible way, giving him the humiliating nickname “Slave”.

One day, before another exam, Jaguar and his cronies decide to steal exam tickets from the class. Cadet Kava was chosen to do this.
But it didn’t work out to do everything quietly; Kava accidentally broke a window in the classroom, and the authorities discovered the kidnapping.
For this, the entire course was punished by deprivation of leave until the culprit was found. Orana was very worried about this, because he really wanted to go out into the city to meet his beloved girl, but he could not go on his own as many did.
This forced Ricardo to go to his superiors and hand over Kava. For his misdeed, cadet Kava was immediately expelled from the school, and his platoon soon had to disperse a communist demonstration.
The order from the authorities was to shoot only in the air, but a stray bullet hit Ricardo Oran in the back of the head. A few days later, "Slave" died in the hospital.

Fernandez reports his suspicions to the school management, as well as the fact that illegal trade, drunkenness and drug addiction are thriving in the course. Platoon commander Lieutenant Gamboa places the suspect Jaguar in solitary confinement until the circumstances are clarified, and then conducts a search of the barracks with officers and sergeants.

However, the school's top management, wanting to avoid a scandal, does not even want to hear that cadet Orana died at the hands of his own comrade. Fernandez ends up in a punishment cell, in the same room with Jaguar.
Here Alberto tells Jaguar about his suspicions and that it was he who turned him in to his superiors. Jaguar almost kills Fernandez, only Lieutenant Gamboa, who arrived in time, separates the guys.
A few days later, Jaguar and Fernandez return to the course. However, the cadets suspected that it was Jaguar who had given them away, and the cadets began chanting "Snitch!" to the former leader.
Those cowards and daddy's boys, for whom Jaguar always stood up to the seniors, now rose up against their leader. But that was not the most terrible thing for Jaguar, what was terrible was that these jackals, the future of this army that is in power in the country...
