Narrative:
The action of the movie Where's your son? takes place in Russia, in the mid-80s of the last century. Several years have passed since the events described in the movie "Attention! To all posts...". Victor Koltsov became a lieutenant of the police, as he had dreamed of before, he moved from the police department to the police department. One day, the task force, of which Koltsov was a member, went to the signal about the robbery of an apartment.
However, this robbery was more than strange, the door to the apartment had been opened, but the valuables and money, according to the landlady, were still there, only a few cans of condensed milk and juice were missing. Victor immediately rushed into the corridor and soon found the "criminal" on the roof, who turned out to be a boy of about twelve years old.
From the boy's words, Koltsov realized that he had run away from the orphanage in search of his father. His mother had died, and his father, as it turned out, was serving a sentence. And from the words of Alyosha Khalin, so called the kid, quite undeservedly. His father was just playing "brick" with his friends, and his father accidentally dropped it on some aunt's head.
Victor took the boy to his department, fed him, and now it was necessary to send him back to where he had escaped from. When he learned that he was going to be sent back to the orphanage, the boy was very upset, he did not want to go back there ever. To cheer him up, Victor promises to regularly visit Alyosha in the orphanage.

And indeed soon Victor visited the orphanage and brought presents for Alyosha. He became very attached to the boy and was now a frequent visitor to the orphanage. But this friendship clearly did not please the head of the orphanage, who feared that Victor was giving the boy some hopes, which would not be realized later and it would be a great trauma for the child.
Victor also received from his superiors, who demanded to solve crimes, while Koltsov devoted all his free time to Alyosha. Here in the orphanage he meets a cab driver Gena. He, like Koltsov, was a frequent guest at the orphanage, helped with household chores, and once decided to adopt little Egorka. Victor, as well as the orphanage management, welcomed Gennady's deed with joy, but Egorka was especially happy that he would now have a family.
Koltsov decided to do something good for his ward, too, and searched for the materials of the criminal case about his father. This truth was very unpleasant for Alyosha, because from these dry pages of the case it turned out that his father was a treacherous criminal, and not once tried.
The boy does not believe Victor and asks him not to go to him anymore, and a few days later he runs away from the orphanage again.
At the same time, the police are investigating a case of a hustler at the car market. The fraudster offered the buyer to go with him to pick up the car in a cab, with the suitcase with money put in the trunk by a "random" cab driver. On the way, the car "broke down" and the buyer was advised to change to another cab. When the buyer arrived at the salon, instead of money, the suitcase contained two packs of waffles.
Victor goes in search of Alyosha and soon finds him in one of the police stations. This time he finds a bundle of money in a bank wrapper. But Alyosha says that he did not steal this money, it was given to him by Yegorka, because his new father, a cab driver, had a lot of such bundles, and he would not notice the loss of one....
