In the taiga, on the bank of the river lived wolverines. One day they learned that on the other bank the forest was thicker and there was more food, so they decided to quickly gather their belongings and cross the river.
The fox finds out about this and offers to help with the crossing, but when all the things were loaded into the boat, the fox treacherously runs away, leaving the trusting wolverines with nothing.
Their neighbor, the woodpecker, comes to the rescue, using the fox's main weapon against her - cunning. When the fox notices that the boat is leaking, the woodpecker obligingly offers to help her, and then, when the fox trusts him, he treats her the same way she treated the trusting wolverines...
