Narrative:
Once upon a time, by the Blue Sea, there lived an old man and his old woman. For thirty years they lived in a dilapidated dugout. All these thirty years the old man caught fish with a seine, and the old woman spun her yarn. Only one day the old man caught one fish in the seine, and not just any fish, but a golden one.
The Golden Fish begged with a human voice and asked the old man to let her go, promising a good ransom for himself in return. In the thirty-odd years that the old man had been fishing, he had never seen a talking fish, so he let the Golden Fish go with God, without any ransom.
However, such charity of the old man greatly angered his mercantile old woman. She ordered the old man to return to the sea immediately and beg the Golden Fish for a new trough, their trough had become completely worn out.
The old fisherman obeyed the old woman and asked the Golden Fish for a new trough, but this seemed too little to the old woman. Her appetites grew exponentially with each wish the Golden Fish fulfilled.
First a new trough, then a new hut, and then the old woman wanted to become a pillar of the nobility and finally, a free queen.
The goldfish willingly fulfilled all these wishes of the capricious old woman until the latter wished to become the queen of the sea, to whom the goldfish herself would serve and be at her beck and call...
