After Walter took out Gustavo, there was a vacuum in the Albuquerque meth market. And not just in Albuquerque, but in all of southwestern New Mexico. After all, not long before his death, Gustavo had cold-bloodedly eliminated the competition from the Mexican cartel that controlled the region.
