The plot of the series True Detective Season 2 (TV series 2015):
The action of the series is set in the present day. In the fictional city of Vinci, California killed city manager Benjamin Casper. His body with signs of brutal torture was found by the patrol police on the side of a federal highway near Los Angeles.
A multi-agency task force has been established to investigate the homicide, including Antigonou Bezzerides, a senior detective with the Antigonou County Sheriff's Department, Traffic Officer Paul Woodrow and Vinci Police Detective Raymond Velcoro.
In the course of operational activities detectives managed to establish that Kasper was closely connected with the local mafia. Dubious real estate deals, construction contracts, and finally, organizing parties for the powerful.
But the further the investigation of the Casper case goes, the more pressure on the detectives from the management. The detectives realize that they will not be allowed to officially investigate this case, so they decide to do it illegally at their own risk....
