Narrative:

Action of the film Private Detective, or Operation "Cooperation" takes place in the late 80s of the last century, during the so-called perestroika in the USSR. Individual entrepreneurial activity was allowed in the country, and the first private enterprises began to appear like mushrooms after the rain – cooperatives.

The cooperative movement quickly took over the service sector: restaurants, car services, video salons, pay toilets. A new class of wealthy people appeared in the country, cooperative members – the elite of the perestroika era. But the life of a cooperative member was not very sweet, because now he had to pay taxes not only to the state, but also to the mafia.

The cooperative members became hostages of their money, they were blackmailed, kidnapped for ransom and even killed. Young man Dmitry Puzyrev also plans to open his own cooperative, but an unusual one – a private detective agency. After all, all his classmates already had their own business: some had a car repair shop, some a restaurant, some boiled denim, and his childhood friend Vitya – a paid toilet in the city center.

At first, Dmitry Puzyrev's detective cooperative brought him neither joy nor money. Honest people turned to the police, and crooks to bandits. Private detectives were not in demand. Dima even started drinking out of grief. But then, as if on purpose, to return his courage, a serious matter was outlined.

One day, a certain citizen Pukhova approached him: bandits had kidnapped her husband, a cooperative member, and were demanding a ransom of ten thousand rubles. This case interested Dmitry very much, and together with his father, he developed a brilliant operation to save citizen Pukhova. But as always, some accident disrupts the carefully developed plan, and Dima and Papa have to improvise...
