Plot of the series Method (TV series 2015):

The series takes place in modern Russia. In 1995, Yesenia Steklova's mother and father are killed by a killer, and a prosecutor promises the girl to find her mother's killer.

But twenty years later, this promise was never fulfilled, although Yesenia's father had risen to a high rank in the investigative committee. As her father explained, the criminal had already died, but Yesenia was not satisfied with this explanation, she felt that her father was hiding something from her.

Following in her father's footsteps, Yesenia also wants to be a lawyer and graduates from one of the prestigious law schools. On this occasion, her father, using his connections, prepares a cushy job for his daughter in the St. Petersburg prosecutor's office. But then an event occurs that changes not only Yesenia's plans regarding service, but her whole life in general.

At the graduation party, in one of the night clubs, Yesenia's best friend Anya Zakharova dies at the hands of a maniac. The criminal, the murderer, was detained hot on the trail, and Yesenia learns from a classmate that this happened thanks to the work of the investigator - Major Rodion Meglin.

There were legends about Meglin in the prosecutor-police environment. Meglin was not an ordinary investigator and although he held the rank of major, his personal file was not even in the personnel department. Meglin was a specialist in serial murders, and all information about him was classified.

It was only known that he had some special method by which he unmistakably found maniacs, but what this method was, no one knew, because Meglin worked alone, not allowing either students or interns near him.

Having learned about Meglin, Yesenia wanted to try to become his intern, hoping to find her mother's killer with Meglin's help and his secret method. Despite the fact that Meglin worked alone, he makes an exception for Yesenia and takes her on as his intern.

Working with Meglin, Yesenia became convinced that this man not only possessed an extraordinary analytical mind, he was also a brilliant psychologist.

Meglin solved the most complex and intricate serial murders, and for this his superiors granted him special powers: Meglin was allowed to do everything, including physically eliminating the killer without any trial or psychiatric examination.

At first, Yesenia did not understand why Meglin chose her as an intern, but then the picture began to become clearer the more she got to know Meglin. She saw that Meglin was seriously mentally ill and could die at any moment, so he was in a hurry to pass on all the secrets of his method to her.

But the most terrible discovery that Yesenia made for herself was that only someone who was a maniac himself could understand Meglin’s method, because Meglin himself was a murderer in the past, sentenced to death...
