Narrative:

The action of the movie "Nesterov's Loop" takes place in the early 80's of the last year of Leonid Brezhnev's rule. The country is in an economic and political deadlock, but the aging and sickly leader is no longer able to adequately assess the situation. And this despite the extensive report of KGB Chairman Yuri Andropov on mass abuses and corruption in the highest echelons of power and the Interior Ministry.

Fearing that the investigation of corruption cases could aggravate the domestic political situation in the country, Brezhnev removed Andropov from the post of KGB chairman and appointed him secretary of the Central Committee, replacing Suslov, who had died a few months earlier.
