Narrative:
"It's MosGas. Open up." That's how the first Soviet serial killer was envisioned. Ionesian. In the early 1960s, disguised as an employee of MosGaz, he broke into the apartments of respectable Soviet citizens and committed brutal murders. The victims of the maniac were mostly children and the elderly, who could offer no resistance to the killer.
Wielding a tourist axe, Ionesyan (MosGaz) killed his victims by stealing cheap trinkets from their modest homes, which he then gave to his lover Aleftina Dmitrieva. The failed ballerina Dmitrieva was not very interested in the failed actor and singer Ionesyan, so the latter decided to play the role of a secret KGB agent in front of her.
Following his legend, Ionesyan disappeared from home under the guise of secret business trips, and returning, brought home the belongings of people he had killed, telling Dmitrieva that it was payment for his loyal service in the silent organs.
The case of the gasman received a great resonance, and was taken under control by the head of state Nikita Khrushchev, who gave detectives two weeks to catch the killer.
In the series, the story of Ionesyan is changed almost completely. The protagonist of the movie had greater ambitions than his historical prototype "MosGas". At stake was not some cheap bling, but the common stock of underground Soviet businessmen - "tsekhoviks". The motives of the serial "MosGaz" were much more serious, and he hardly fit the image of a maniac who haphazardly killed his victims....
