Narrative:

Действие сериала «Бездна» происходит в наше время. Главный герой сериала майор Александр Варламов, начальник отдела поведенческого анализа — специального подразделения Ministry of Internal Affairs, specializing in the search for maniacs and other criminals with mental disorders.

However, Varlamov is not only a police officer, but also a writer. Recently, there was a presentation of his first book, "The Abyss", which could have made Varlamov famous throughout the country.

However, Varlamov unexpectedly receives a blow from where no one ever expected: an unknown person has kidnapped his daughter. Varlamov immediately assumed that it could have been one of his former protégés, who, thanks to his efforts, ended up in the hands of justice.

So the detective's gaze fell on a certain Frolov, a serial killer who had recently been released after forced psychiatric treatment. Varlamov knew that Frolov harbored a grudge against him and could well decide to take revenge, but at the time of his daughter's abduction, Frolov had a 100% alibi.

Nevertheless, Frolov was placed under covert surveillance, from which Varlamov concluded that Frolov was involved in the kidnapping, but that he was not acting on his own initiative.

Someone more intelligent, calculating and cunning stood above Frolov, but what was the criminal's motive? Varlamov's former teacher Leonid Korolev assumed that it was a person from his inner circle. But who was it? Work colleagues or friends? After analyzing the situation, Varlamov realized that everyone had their own motive to push him aside and began to check each one in turn.

However, the situation suddenly changed, and Varlamov himself turned from an investigator into the main suspect. He was accused of kidnapping his daughter to attract attention to his book "The Abyss", the sales of which skyrocketed after his daughter's kidnapping...
