Narrative:

The action of the series "Monster Trap" takes place in our time. Investigator SK Lieutenant Colonel Sergei Kovalev comes to Smolensk for his mother's birthday. Here he has a quarrel with his half-brother, SOBR Colonel Vladimir Yevseyev.

Due to a quarrel, Yevseyev and his family were forced to urgently leave the family celebration, and after a while, Kovalev decides to catch up with his brother to apologize for ruining the holiday.

From afar, he saw his brother's car parked on the side of the road with its doors open. And when Sergei drove closer, he saw that Vladimir himself, his wife and daughter were dead. They had been killed with a carbine, and then the criminal had cut up the dead bodies with a knife.

The investigator is prohibited from conducting an investigation when it concerns his close relatives, but the fact that Vladimir was a half-brother and had a different surname gave Kovalev the opportunity to hide the fact of kinship and investigate this murder.
