Plot:

The action of the series "Island of the Doomed" takes place in our time in the provincial Russian town of Okhotinsk. Situated on an island five hundred kilometers from Moscow, the thirty-thousand town was not like other provincial towns in Russia.

Surrounded on all sides by rivers and swamps, it was as if cut off from the outside world. Boredom, dullness, and despondency awaited everyone who was born in this town and decided to forever connect their lives with it. For this reason, the locals nicknamed the town "The Island of the Doomed."

But one day, an event occurs on this island that not only shakes up the crowded life of this town, but also reaches the capital itself.

Two fishermen found the body of a young woman dressed in a 16th-century dress in a boat. The murder weapon was also unusual: the nature of the gunshot wound was similar to that of an antique single-shot rifle. But the most unusual thing was that the dead girl was wearing jewelry belonging to General Pavlov's daughter, who had disappeared in these parts eight years ago.

Due to the importance of the case, police major Maxim Peshkov and FSB officer Major Alexei Trubetskoy are sent to Okhotinsk. They soon establish that this is not an isolated case of people dying and disappearing on the island. But the police did nothing, and the locals believed that a mythical "dead hunter" was wandering around the island, killing people. But Moscow detectives did not believe in dead hunters, but believed that a real maniac was operating on the island - cunning, smart and calculating...
