The plot of the series Kupchino (TV series 2018):

The series takes place in the early 80s of the last century. The main character of the series, a law student and aspiring rock musician Fyodor Zastukov, gets into an unpleasant situation with illegal currency transactions, for which in the country of victorious socialism there was a severe punishment, up to the highest measure - execution.

However, Fyodor's father, an influential official, using his connections in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, saves his son from the punishment he deserves and sends him to be re-educated by his own brother in Leningrad.

Fearing that his nephew, spoiled by the bohemian life of the capital, might again get into some unpleasant situation, the uncle decides to get the budding rocker a job. And not just anywhere, but as an assistant to the local police officer Vasilich.

Former criminal investigation officer, police captain Nikolai Vasilyevich Tabanin, was demoted in rank and position for abuse of office and sent to serve as a district police officer in the Kupchino district, where the failed rock musician and Fedya Zastukov now lived.

At first, the relationship between the seasoned operative and the young trainee does not work out. Tabanin is burdened by his new assistant, who has no idea about serving in the police, and only dreams of when this hated internship will finally end and he will finally be able to return to Moscow.

But when the trainee and his boss began to get used to each other, Fyodor again gets caught speculating in records. This time Fyodor can't get out of it as easily as he did in Moscow. People from the KGB (the USSR State Security Committee), who had been following him for a long time and were aware of his latest affairs, have already become seriously interested in him.

In order to avoid punishment, Zastukov had to make a difficult choice: either he would go to prison for many years, from where even his influential father would not be able to get him out, or he would have to become a KGB informant and inform not only on his new musician friends from Kupchino, but also on his immediate superior, Captain Tabanin...
