Plot of the film Total Recall (1990 film):
The film takes place in an indefinite future, when human civilization manages to go beyond Earth and colonize the planets of the solar system.
The main character of the film, a simple working guy Douglas Quaid, lives a boring monotonous life. He has never left Earth, but he is often tormented by nightmares in which he takes part in dangerous adventures on Mars. His wife even advises Douglas to see a psychologist, but one day in the subway he sees a video advertisement for the agency "Remembrance", promising clients unprecedented sensations. With the help of special equipment, a recording is taken from the brain into the memory of artificial memories.
Douglas decides to make a similar trip to Mars and goes to the agency. However, the advertisement for an innocent-looking entertainment caught Quaid's eye not by chance. It was planted by those who stole his life from him, erased all memories of the past from his memory.
About that past, in which he was called Karl Hauser - a secret agent who carried out some important mission on Mars. What kind of mission it was, and who decided to return him to his past life, now he had to figure out.
To remember everything, he had to urgently go to Mars and go through all those nightmares that so often tormented him in his sleep...
