An idea is the most tenacious parasite in the human body. Once it has penetrated a person's brain, an idea takes over completely. And it is almost impossible to get rid of an obsessive idea.

Only experienced specialists can solve this practically unsolvable problem. Those who are able to extract ideas from the human brain by connecting to it in a dream. After all, in a dream, the protection of the subconscious is significantly reduced and a person's thoughts are very vulnerable.

The best specialist in extracting other people's ideas was Dominic Cobb. "Dream Architect" from the company "Global Engineering", which was engaged in industrial espionage. By penetrating the dream of a potential victim, Cobb could extract any secret from the person's brain. Even those that in real life the person might not even suspect.

But one day Cobb receives an order from an influential Japanese businessman Saito of the opposite nature. This time Cobb will not need to extract someone else's idea, but on the contrary, implant it into a person's brain. And in such a way that this person would never guess who implanted this idea.

This man was Robert Fisher, son of energy magnate Maurice Fisher. Who, after the death of his gravely ill father, would inherit his entire vast business empire. On Saito's orders, Cobb had to plant an idea in Robert Fisher's mind that would make him want to destroy his father's business empire.
In order to descend into the depths of Fisher Jr.'s subconscious, Cobb has to use several levels of sleep, such as a dream within a dream.
