Narrative:
The action of the movie Anchor, more anchor takes place in the early post-war years in Russia. One of the military units is preparing for an amateur talent show. The young lieutenant Vladimir Poletaev, the accompanist of the soldiers' choir, rightly remarks that their choir is somehow incomplete, lacking in women, so that the song about Comrade Stalin would sound completely different.
Having plucked up courage, the lieutenant went to the regiment commander, Colonel Vinogradov, with a petition to allocate female soldiers for the choir. Hero of the Soviet Union Colonel Vinogradov was in good spirits and granted Poletaev's request. And soon the lieutenant accompanied quite a full multi-voice choir. During the first rehearsal Poletaev's gaze met the gaze of junior lieutenant of medical service Lyubov Antipova.
Lyubov Antipova was at one time the marching field wife (MPW) of Hero of the Soviet Union Colonel Vinogradov. In 1944 Vinogradov formalized his marriage to Antipova without divorcing his first wife Tamara. Now Tamara and her two children lived not far from the unit, in a shabby barracks, while Vinogradov and Antipova lived in a luxurious mansion furnished with trophy German property.

The colonel was tormented by an insoluble task: on the one hand responsibility to his lawful wife and his two children, on the other young Lyuba Antipova, whom Vinogradov loved madly. So the colonel temporarily managed to soothe Tamara with promises to go away together somewhere, but he realized that he could not go on like this for long.
The lieutenant knew to whom Lyuba belonged, but the voice of sex was stronger than the commander's will, and the lovers secretly begin to meet at the apartment of Captain Ivan Kryukov, which was kindly provided by the captain's wife Anya. But everything secret soon becomes apparent, especially in a military town isolated from the outside world.
Anya Krukova, who was trying to make a career for her husband, did not disdain to sleep with those bosses on whom it directly depended. There was a hitch with Colonel Vinogradov, who did not give in to Anna's seduction and refused to write a report on the negligent captain.
From that moment Vinogradov began to have problems, besides the fact that Tamara, tired of empty promises, came to his house, and Lyuba's affair with a young snotty lieutenant upset him to no end. Vinogradov realizes that bigamy is not accepted in the USSR, and now his career will not be saved even by the golden star of the Hero.
This was diplomatically hinted to the colonel by a major of Smersh, whom the colonel had pushed out of his house a few days before. Now the major had all the trump cards on his hands to break the colonel's life, so, among other things, he urged Vinogradov to sign a submission on Captain Krukov.
The colonel signs an introduction to the captain, but this does not solve the main problem, how to be with two wives. Unable to choose with whom to stay with, Colonel Vinogradov decides to leave on his own, forever...
