Plot of the film Anna Pavlova (1983 film):

The film, dedicated to the life and work of Anna Pavlova, an outstanding Russian ballerina of the early 20th century, is divided into five short stories, each of which reflects a certain stage of her life.

Rossi Street tells the story of Anna's childhood in St. Petersburg. The little girl, inspired by the ballet Sleeping Beauty, dreams of becoming a ballerina. Despite her fragile health, Anna enters the Imperial Theatre School in 1891. Here begins her journey to the heights of ballet art.

The novella “The Undying Swan” tells the story of Anna Pavlova’s most famous number – the miniature “The Dying Swan”, staged by Mikhail Fokine in 1905. This dance, a symbol of grace and tragic beauty, became the ballerina’s calling card. Collaboration with Fokine, as well as with other ballet reformers such as Vaslav Nijinsky and Sergei Diaghilev, played a key role in the formation of Pavlova’s unique style.
