When the woman regained consciousness, she found that she had been in a liturgical sleep for fifty-seven years. The woman's name was Ellen Ripley. Fifty-seven years ago, she was the pilot of the space tug Nostromo, which crashed in an explosion.

Ellen Ripley's troubles did not end with this discovery. The Weyland-Yutani Corporation, which owned the Nostromo, conducted its own investigation into the tractor crash. And they came to the conclusion that Ellen Ripley was involved in the explosion of the Nostromo's engine.

Given that the statute of limitations had expired, Ripley was not prosecuted. The commission revoked her spacecraft license and ordered psychiatric treatment.

In response to these accusations, Ellen stated that the cause of the Nostrom's death was cruel aliens - unknown biological organisms with concentrated acid instead of blood.

"Aliens", as Ripley called these monsters, lived on the planet Acheron, from where they got on board the "Nostrom" along with the cargo. According to Ellen, "aliens" were deadly dangerous for people, due to the ability of an embryo to develop in a human body. If one of them got to Earth, human civilization would end.

But the corporation's management was skeptical about Ellen's information, considering it to be the fruit of the woman's mental state. In addition, the "Hadley's Hope" colony had been organized on Acheron for several years, where several dozen families lived happily, and no signals about any aliens had been received from them.

However, soon the connection with the colony is suddenly broken. The company plans to send a rescue expedition to Acheron. Ellen Ripley is offered to go with the rescuers as a consultant. Ellen agrees, but sets a condition: the "aliens", if they are there, must be destroyed, and under no circumstances should the company's management try to capture the predator for experiments...
