Narrative:
The film "It Happened at the Police Station" takes place in the early 1960s. Soldier Fyodor Petrovich Kravchenko lost his parents during the siege. His mother died of hunger, his father went to the front, and he was sent along the "road of life" to the mainland and given to be raised in an orphanage.
Already from the army, Fyodor Kravchenko wrote a letter to the Leningrad police asking them to find his father. This was not an easy task, thousands of people after the war were looking for their relatives, and the boy's last name could have been different, because he ended up in an orphanage at the age of three.
The detectives from the civil investigation department of the police did not have so many leads to consider the case, if not completely hopeless, then at least unpromising. And someone generally believed that the guy was already an adult and could do without a father, therefore, all efforts should be directed at finding fathers who abandoned their young children and hid from paying child support.
However, police major Nikolai Sazonov, whose son went missing in 1943, took Fyodor Kravchenko's fate to heart and believed that all necessary measures should be taken to find his father. The boy remembered that his father wore a naval uniform, and the suitcase with which he was sent to the orphanage had an address: Petrogradskaya Storona, but there was no house number.
Sazonov understands that this is not enough to find a person in a city of millions, but he resolutely continues the search, despite the skeptical, and sometimes even hostile, attitude of his colleagues towards this matter...
