The meeting place cannot be changed. Episode 1
Summer 1945. Frontline intelligence officer Senior Lieutenant Vladimir Sharapov is sent to serve in MUR. To the position of operative officer of the department for combating banditry, headed by Captain Gleb Zheglov.
Zheglov and his charges have a lot of work. Post-war Moscow was choking on crime, but the Black Cat gang was especially terrifying to the capital.
In order to get on the gang's trail, the MUR officers decide to infiltrate the gang under the guise of criminal Senka Tuzik, an operative named Vasya Vekshin. Who was specially sent from Kaluga. But the bandits manage to break Vekshin...

A woman was killed: Larisa Gruzdeva. Her ex-husband Ivan Gruzdev was arrested on suspicion of murder. However, soon after checking one of the drinking spots, operatives detained a certain Manya Obligatsiya, on whose hand the bracelet of the murdered Gruzdeva was flaunting.
The detectives found out that the bracelet was given to the girl by the recidivist thief Kopchenny. Who in turn won it from the pickpocket Kostya Soprykin, nicknamed "Kirpich". The detained Kirpich stated that he won the bracelet from a certain Fox, a very authoritative criminal in the criminal underworld...

Having received a description of Fox's appearance, the operatives found out that he was an active member of the Black Cat gang. On the day of the warehouse robbery, when Zheglov's department was raised on alert, Sharapov met him not far from the scene.

Now, when it turned out that Fox was also Larisa Gruzdeva's lover, Sharapov had no doubt who her killer was. But Zheglov was in no hurry to release Gruzdev, so as not to scare Fox. And because of this, a conflict arose between him and Sharapov...

Having learned that Fox often visits a certain Verka the milliner, the detectives set up an ambush at the apartment, but Fox manages to escape. However, information soon appeared that Fox was to appear at the commercial restaurant "Astoria".

Under the guise of a criminal who shared a cell with Fox, Sharapov goes to meet Anya, to whom he must deliver a letter.
But he must convey the main thing verbally. This is an instruction on how to free Fox during the investigative experiment. According to the plan, Sharapov was only supposed to give a letter to Anya, but the bandits kidnapped him and took him to their "raspberry".
