Plot:
Inspired by the success of the film "Peculiarities of the National Hunt", the filmmakers made a follow-up film about the drunken adventures of the idiotic General Mikhalych and his friends, entitled Peculiarities of national fishing.
This time, the brave general, who makes short toasts like a shot and never takes a Cuban cigar out of his mouth, is going fishing with his loyal friends, Major of the Criminal Investigation Department Lev Soloveichik and businessman Sergei.
At the appointed place, the huntsman Kuzmich, a passionate admirer of Japanese culture and Russian vodka, is already waiting for them. In this film, vodka starts flowing in streams from the very first frame of the film. Kuzmich, waiting for his drinking buddies, right in the cabin of a police UAZ, and in the presence of Sergeant Semenov, drinks a bottle of vodka straight from the bottle without a snack or a drink.

Just like the hero of the film "The Fate of a Man", who drank three glasses of vodka without eating after the first two. The Germans were amazed by such "valor" of the Russian soldier that they awarded him a loaf of bread and a piece of lard. But it seems that there were no more alcoholic heroes in Soviet cinema. Basically, drunks were the negative heroes of all films.
But times have changed. People have embraced films about alcoholic heroes with enthusiasm, and many probably relate to this image. In the film "Peculiarities of National Fishing" the fishermen heroes get so drunk that, bypassing all border barriers, they end up in Finland, where they continue drinking vodka called "Harvest".
Luckily, the thrifty Kuzmich took sixteen boxes of vodka for four people on the fishing trip. Or rather, for five people; this time they also took the local prosecutor, who also liked to get drunk. Unlike the first part, they now drank vodka by the glass and without snacks. Only in the evening did the fishermen-hunters get hungry and send Kuzmich and Leva to the store for food.

On the way back, the car was stopped by Finnish police officers, who were outraged that Russians were already driving drunk in Finland as if they were at home. Realizing that they couldn't come to an agreement with the local police like they had with the local sergeant Semenov, the fishermen decided to retreat home. But they were worried that the general might get upset and declare war on the peaceful Finns, so they tranquilized him and transported him to Russia in this state.
The prosecutor also returns to his homeland in an unconscious state. Before that, he met a hot Finnish woman, whom he locked in a barn so that she would not run away until he found champagne. Having regained consciousness in Kuzmich's estate, the prosecutor tries to find this barn.
When he learns that the barn is still in Finland, he becomes very worried. But Sergeant Semenov has a friend in Finland, Raivo. Semenov calls Raivo and asks him to open the barn and release the lady. Meanwhile, Kuzmich is worried that he left sixteen boxes of vodka in Finland, which the Finns took for the largest contraband of alcohol and seized.
The Russian Navy comes to the aid of the fishermen. For a few bottles of vodka, they hire a submarine with which they not only get their vodka back, but also take away part of the Finns' territory in the form of a wooden pier with its citizen Raivo.
But on the way back the submarine runs out of fuel, so the captain orders to pour vodka into the tank. Kuzmich, gritting his teeth, carries out the captain's order. But they are not left without alcohol, at the end of the film the alcoholic fishermen fish out a box of 1804 cognac from the seabed...
